Hailing from one of the most successful countries in the modeling world, Dutch beauty Hanna Samokhina initially had no intentions of becoming a model. However, her unique features and regal presence were hardly unnoticed by fashion experts. Immediately after being scouted in the Netherlands, the 5'10" red-head was picked up by some of the top modeling agencies in the industry, and made an impressive New York fashion week debut by exclusively walking for the great Calvin Klein. As she gains the experience needed, Hanna Samokhina is sure to leave a mark in the fashion world. How did you get started in the modeling business? Hanna: I got scouted in Holland by Chris Stenton, after a while my first trip took me to Milan. Did you ever think you'd be doing this? Hanna: No I was totally not, I didn't even know about model world, and so the whole city where Im from, so my plans were going to study , but it turns out this way which is very nice experience to do ! What do you like most about modeling? What do you like least? Have you encountered any surprises along the way? What has been your most awkward moment (of your modelling career)? Hanna: You deal everyday with other people, which is kind of interesting, you learn and discover many things from those people, you learn to be responsible and you will have friends all over the world hihi. Awkward moments are when you have to travel and be ready in last minute that's what I really don't like, and when it's very busy you don't get the chance to discover the city where you are at the moment, it's when you have a job and after the job is done you have to move on. What are your favourite things to do in your free time? Hanna: In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my friends, having a lot of fun and my head free of work for a while . Out of all the places your career has taken you, where was the most memorable? Hanna: I enjoy all the places because every city and country has his own character , but can't stay too long somewhere, thoughts that there are more things to discover and see make me in the mood for something new. Do you have a mentor? Who? What is it about them that affects you? Why? Hanna: My mother agent, he keeps me informed what I have next , where to move, what to do. He is older, has been in this model world, so he understands me when I don't have my days and when I also do have my days, so it's a nice balance as well. Where do you see yourself in ten years? What could be your next career? Hanna: It's for me about where I don't see myself and that's doing a regular job - haha, I will keep on travelling, hope to see the whole world in ten years . What are your best beauty secrets? How do you stay in shape? Hanna: I love to eat and I like foods like seafood, fish, fruit, vegetables, but I'm also crazy about chocolate. Well I'm moving whole day long so I think that's why I'm staying in balance. Any advice for new models? What advice would you give other models starting out? Hanna: If you really want it, you will have it ! Favourite all-time model? Hanna: Ruslana Korshunova . Favourite fashion designer: Hanna: Difficult choice. Favourite kind of food: Hanna: Chocolate -haha Favourite kind of music? Everything, if it sounds good enough for me. Favourite quote: Hanna: If he/she can do it, I can do it ! I'd like to meet: Hanna: some actors like Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Robert de Niro, Joe Pesci etc. If I were trapped on an island I'd take: Hanna: I would take my computer to keep on watching movies and stay in spotlight of the world news, and for the rest chilling in the sun -hihi Thank you Hanna for this great interview!
